Anthony Pistone, of the Bronx, was arraigned this week on identity theft and other charges related to his attempt at stealing from another person’s bank account using his victim’s identity.
On Jan. 22, it is alleged that Pistone went into Webster Bank on River Street in New Rochelle with a forged Connecticut state driver’s license that had his victim’s name, date of birth and address, and a forged withdrawal slip containing the victim’s signature and business checking account number.
Using those documents, Pistone allegedly attempted to withdraw $6,000 from his victim’s business checking account. He was unsuccessful and arrested by officers from the New Rochelle Police Department shortly thereafter.
Pistone was charged with identity theft, attempted grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, all felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal impersonation. Pistone is scheduled to appear in court on April 2 to respond to the charges.
